That's why I said it was in reference to the guild ambassador being broken. And in any case that is a direct quote from Gaile and I was using it as a way to let people know they are on vacation and it may take a a few days to fix.

one warning in one district in one town, either it need to be globally accounced, or added to the accouncement screen, otherwize it not a real warning.

ya know when i think about it, mb they shound give those exploiters a title, mb Legendary Ferry of Ascolon, seeing how anet love to reward those who are inovated enough to break their mold.

This is waht I have to say on it.

If they ban anyone for doing it then they need to ban everyone who used the Zchest before the keys were enabled, as its the same thing.

That was in many districts across a few territories. I stopped and chatted with players in some districts, but for the most part, I waited to see if the exploit was being promoted, and if it was, I posted that or a similar message.

I don't want to be or sound like I'm a mean person. I just want to let people know that if they use an exploit, they may get a block or ban on their account. I don't really know right now what will happen to those who use this exploit, who promote its use, or who profit from it. Maybe nothing will happen at all. But with Wintersday just two days away, I want players to think about it a bit, about what they might be doing or might be tempted to do, so that they don't risk losing access to one of the best days of the game year.

Yes, and ban everyone who:
1. used the gate trick in Foundry
2. used the door glitch to kill Mallyx
3. bought stacks of black dyes, ectos at 250g when anet resetted the prices 2.5 years ago
4. dupped the armbraces. I seriously doubt all the duppers were banned.
5. ferried goods to/from pre/post searing
6. benefited from the 30% enchant items.
... very long list ...
This game has its share of bugs. If you ban everyone who 'exploited', not many players left.

Some of those involved in the issues on your list were definitely banned. Some where not. It depended on their involvement, the issue, and other factors. Plus, wouldn't you agree that some of these things aren't at the same level of significance? I mean the 30% items sure don't seem in the same class as duping!

If the zone-anywhere glitch is seen to be a serious-enough issue to deserve account action, that action will be taken. I don't know yet what decision will be made about it. But at the end of the day, this is sort of like a casino: Casino personnel can't catch every person who cheats at cards, but that doesn't keep them from looking, or from reacting when they catch a cheater.

I can't see why there's such a big fuss. Yes, it's an exploit that needs to be fixed.. but seriously, the torches and pickforks should be put away. It's not economy breaking like the duping.. it doesn't affect anyone but the person who is ferried. Besides, every man and his dog owns an exalted aegis by now, or any end game green :P There has to be thousands (millions? ) out there already, I can't see it weakening the "market" for them further.

if this thing kept quiet like it did when you guys TRIED to fix it 2-3 weeks ago nobody would be banned (I'm assuming nobody was banned during the first round about)

Its like during the NBA playoffs and the media made all the hush hush about 2 players stepping on the floor when they weren't supposed to...

Its all about the community and how up in arms they get or else people just don't notice it and nothing is done

Kinda sad because i hope i'm not banned for this...

I didn't take anybody on rides other than myself and a few guildies mainly to get armor instead of running through areas again 3rd 4th time

oh well i'll wait and see what happens

Dear Gaile, while some dupers were banned, there are still so many people with insane amount of armbraces. One can say they definitely benefited from the dupers. With all these spare "cash" flowing into the game economy, high end items have been jacked up sky high - pandas are at 9000 ectos, just a case in point. It just makes one think the actions anet has taken on that episode was "too little, too late".

As for the 30% mod episode, the benefit was not significant, but what's significant was the scrapping of the item only happened after someone posted a sell thread of these things, then anet nerfed them, with the lingering thought about XYZ guild people getting advance nerf warning, etc etc.

just 1 file but might be it, hopefully.
i'm not sure how this exploit worked, u could just create a new char and map him to few cities? if this was possible and someone opened multiple buried treasures like this, that's who's deserving a big ban imho
